minimalism, What is it?

As a general definition, minimalism

A design or [life]style in which the simplest and fewest elements are used to create the maximum effect.

Minimalism is a sort of lifestyle that will guarantee your freedom, I like looking at it as relief from being overwhelmed worried from feeling guilty and stressed of a lot of things that have been going on with your life. According to Alison’s notebook website :

Minimalism is a tool to rid yourself of life’s excess in favor of focusing on what is important so you can find happiness fulfillment and freedom.

I am not qualified as a psychologist or a real minimalist yet, I am a learner as you are, and I am just here to share lessons I am learning from this sentiment of relief and freedom.

Why should I become a minimalist?

Minimalism will make you go from a bunch of bad habits to good ones

Heres a few examples:

More space less mess

More headspace less stress

More time with family less tasks

More giving less waste

More of our friends

Less ditching

More quality less quantity

More hope less debt

Lmore healthy less clutter

More fun less busy

More me time, kids, partner, lifetime

More freedom, flexibility, meaning, humility, respect, appreciation, savings, creating

More purpose and reasons to live happily

“very little is needed to make a happy life”

How will minimalism aid me to improve my life

Reclaim our surrounding space:

I still live in my parents’ house so I really can’t do much about the entire space but at least I work in my room.

Recently I decided to redo and redecorate my room that I swear was a total mess, too many colors and too much storage items and stuff that I know I didn’t need but kept them. So in order to get rid of all that I changed the entire room and went from green pink and bold colors to white soft simple and minimal to keep the touch I didn’t paint the room ( the color is lavender that I obviously love).

But I chose to design and not simply purchase what was in stores so I personalized my furniture. Still didn’t finish the entire decoration but It is progressing.

I will write and tell you more about it when it is done but what I did is to get rid of storage items that you don’t need cause you simply would feel obliged to fill them.

Reclaim Energy:

With school, work, life you won’t be able to have enough energy to do things you love or you need to have a happy life.

For my own experience, I had trouble with finding the best sports that go with my health conditions and my busy schedules so I found some interesting exercises that are minimal and easy to do that suits me.

As well for the beauty productions and routines that I will update on them and help you build your own.

Finally…

Reclaim time:

Time is pure gold and we want to spend it wisely on things we love.

As a consequence, we stress and do a lot of mistakes about how to manage it properly we always worry about having enough sleep, get our work done and take care of ourselves and our surroundings.

Minimalism reclaims and helps to organize our precious time.

To know more about all this, stay tuned for the upcoming articles as I promised.

With LOVE…
